Crowns

A dental crown, also known as a cap, covers the outer surface of a tooth. Crowns may be used to restore the shape of a tooth, provide strength to a tooth that has been cracked or damaged or create a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. Crowns may be made from porcelain, ceramic, gold or a combination of materials. To find out if a dental crown is the right option for you, contact our practice today.

Dentures

At MyDentist we understand that it is difficult for patients to lose all or even some of their teeth. Fortunately, there are options to replace missing teeth, including dental implants and dentures.

Available at our Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Kansas City locations, dentures are a removable set of teeth, which allow patients to function normally while also providing support to surrounding tissues. There are two different types of dentures available, depending on a patient’s needs.

Full Dentures

Full dentures may be ideal for patients who have lost most or all their upper or lower teeth, due to a serious disease or injury. Offered at our practice in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Kansas City, a full set of dentures can restore both functionality and self-confidence, allowing patients to eat, speak and smile with ease. In cases where no original teeth remain, dental implants may be needed to hold the dentures in place. Contact our practice to find out if you can benefit from full dentures.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are available to patients who have lost some teeth, but still have a few teeth remaining. These remaining teeth can help to anchor the dentures in place, increasing the strength and stability of the denture. Partials not only serve an aesthetic purpose, but also allow patients to speak and chew with comfort, while providing support to surrounding teeth and minimizing periodontal problems by maintaining proper occlusion.

Dentures are created and adjusted over several appointments to obtain the best possible results. If you are interested in dentures to replace missing teeth, visit MyDentist, with locations in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Kansas City. We will make sure your dentures fit comfortably and see that you are satisfied before our job is done.

Extractions

Teeth may need to be removed (extracted) for one of several reasons, including severe decay and overcrowding. Often, teeth are removed to allow more room for the remaining teeth to be straightened through orthodontics. At MyDentist, our dentists have the experience to safely extract teeth when necessary. If you need to have a tooth removed, or to learn more about the extraction process, contact a dental professional at MyDentist today.

Orthodontics

Patients with crooked or misaligned teeth may benefit from orthodontics (braces). We have several options available to straighten teeth, leaving patients with a beautiful, balanced smile.

Clear Braces

An orthodontist at some MyDentist locations in Oklahoma City, Kansas City and Tulsa can apply clear braces to help straighten your teeth for a more aligned smile. Unlike metal braces that are easily noticeable, clear braces, made of tooth-colored ceramic, are barely visible. Applied with cement and tightened with clear or tooth-colored wires, clear braces provide a more subtle approach to straightening teeth while using the same treatment process as traditional metal braces. Contact MyDentist in Oklahoma City, Kansas City or Tulsa to find out if clear braces are an option for you.

Invisalign ®

Invisalign®, an alternative to traditional braces, repositions teeth using a series of clear, removable trays. These trays, specifically designed to fit your teeth, are comfortable and virtually undetectable. Contact our office today to find out if you can benefit from Invisalign.

Pain Management

At MyDentist, our first priority is your comfort and safety. For this reason, we offer pain management using various medications to ensure that you do not feel pain or discomfort during or after treatment. It is extremely important that you provide our dental staff with information about any allergies or negative reactions you have had to medications in the past, so we can provide you with the best possible care. Contact our office for more specific information about pain management.

Periodontal (Gum) Disease

Periodontal or gum disease affects the gums and bones supporting the teeth. While the disease is rarely painful, it will continue to progress and, without treatment, may ultimately result in tooth loss. In the initial stages, known more commonly as gingivitis, the disease is reversible and easily treated. Symptoms of gingivitis include red, swollen or bleeding gums. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is important that you schedule an appointment with MyDentist today.

As the disease advances, bacteria spreads between the teeth and gums, causing pockets to form. These pockets soon become infected and gradually deteriorate both the gums and supporting bone, loosening teeth in the process. This advanced stage of gum disease is more commonly known as periodontitis. Unfortunately, at this point, while the disease can still be treated, the damage caused is mostly irreversible.

If you are suffering from any of the symptoms of periodontal disease, contact MyDentist. It is important that you schedule an appointment so that we can provide effective treatment and restore your oral health.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is performed to remove an infection that develops at the center of a tooth as a result of decay. The infected area, known as the pulp chamber, contains the tooth’s nerve tissue. When this area becomes infected, the bacteria and infected nerve tissue must be removed. The tooth is then filled with a sterile material and sealed to prevent a recurring infection.

If you have tender or swollen gums surrounding a tooth, or if a tooth is frequently causing you pain, you may be in need of root canal therapy. Contact MyDentist today to find out if you need treatment.

Sealants

Sealants are placed on teeth as protection from cavities and decay. Children and individuals with deep and narrow grooves in their teeth are the best candidates for dental sealants. Sealants can last from a few to several years. If you are concerned about tooth decay and are interested in sealants to protect your teeth, contact MyDentist today.

Sedation Dentistry

Patients who are nervous or anxious about receiving dental care should speak to MyDentist at our Tulsa, Kansas City or Oklahoma City area locations about sedation dentistry. We offer both conscious sedation and sedation dentistry at our Oklahoma City, Kansas City and Tulsa locations.

Conscious Sedation

Patients who are anxious or fearful about dental treatment may be candidates for conscious sedation. Through conscious sedation, patients are provided with pain relievers and sedatives so that they will be relaxed and feel virtually no pain during their dental procedure. While patients under conscious sedation will likely not remember the procedure when it is over, they will be able to speak and communicate with the dentist if they experience any discomfort during treatment. Contact our locations in Tulsa, Kansas City or Oklahoma City to find out if you are a candidate for conscious sedation dentistry.

General Anesthesia

General anesthesia is a form of sedation dentistry that puts patients into a deep sleep so that they are unable to feel any pain or communicate during the procedure. MyDentist offers general anesthesia in some Oklahoma City offices.

Contact MyDentist in Tulsa, Kansas City or Oklahoma City to learn more about sedation dentistry or any of our other general dentistry options.
